Tata Harrier EV Key Features, Range, and Expected Price

Tata Motors is preparing to launch its next all-electric SUV, the Tata Harrier EV, which was showcased in its final production-ready form at the Auto Expo 2025 in January. The automaker has yet to disclose detailed specifications regarding the battery pack and features, but it has confirmed that the upcoming electric SUV will come equipped with an all-wheel-drive system. The overall design of the Harrier EV remains largely similar to its diesel-powered counterpart. There are no major changes in its body structure, ensuring it retains the signature bold look of the Harrier. However, there are some design elements that set it apart as an electric vehicle. The front grille is closed off, a common trait among EVs to improve aerodynamics, while the bumpers feature vertical slats similar to those seen on the Tata Nexon EV. The alloy wheels are aerodynamically styled to enhance efficiency, while connected LED daytime running lights and taillights maintain the familiar look of the SUV.
Tata has not yet revealed the full interior details of the electric Harrier, but it is expected to follow the same dashboard layout as the regular version. Previous electric models from Tata, such as the Nexon EV and the upcoming Curvv EV, feature a dual-tone black and white cabin theme, and the Harrier EV is expected to follow the same approach. The vehicle displayed at the Auto Expo already hinted at this interior theme.
The upcoming electric SUV is expected to share most of its features with the standard Harrier, including a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital 10.25-inch driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats. Additional premium features such as dual-zone climate control and a powered tailgate may also be included. A notable highlight in the feature list is the summon mode, which allows the driver to move the car forward or backward using the key fob, a feature that adds convenience in tight parking spaces.
In terms of safety, Tata is expected to equip the Harrier EV with advanced features to ensure driver and passenger protection. It could come with up to seven airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for improved safety and driving assistance.
One of the biggest upgrades in the electric version of the Harrier is the inclusion of an all-wheel-drive system, confirmed by Tata. This system consists of a dual-motor setup that powers both the front and rear wheels, providing better traction and performance on different terrains. The Harrier EV is also expected to house a large battery pack, offering an estimated range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge. While the exact battery capacity is yet to be disclosed, this extended range would make the electric SUV suitable for long-distance travel. Tata may also introduce a more affordable, single-motor variant for buyers who do not require all-wheel drive.
The Harrier EV is expected to be positioned as a premium electric SUV in Tata’s lineup. The estimated starting price is around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the more expensive offerings from the brand. In terms of competition, it will take on other electric SUVs in the market, including the Mahindra XEV 9e and the BYD Atto 3.
With the increasing demand for electric vehicles and growing advancements in technology, the Tata Harrier EV is expected to attract a lot of attention.
